The Turkish – Iran relations: “Dangerous neighbours”

Turkey and Iran are two neighbouring countries in the Caucasian and the Near East. There is 450 km extended land borderline between these two countries. This borderline was settled by the Gasri Shirin treaty signed between Ottoman and Safavi in 1639. The volume of commodity circulation between Turkey and Iran attains 7 billion dollars and it is planned to achieve this volume to annual 10 billion dollars until 2010.
